Rising Through the Ranks: How 19-Year-Old Rudrapriyo Dutta is Making His Mark on Kolkata Cosplay

The Kolkata cosplay community is known for its incredible veteran talent, but every so often, a new challenger enters the arena and immediately commands attention. Rudrapriyo Dutta is exactly that kind of creator. At just 19 years old, he has taken his first steps into the world of cosplay and is already proving that passion and dedication can fast-track you to the main stage.

Breaking into competitive cosplay can be intimidating for newcomers, but Rudrapriyo didn't waste any time. In his debut year, he stepped onto the stage at the Kolkata Comics Karnival (KCK) 2025 and walked away with an Honorable Mention—a massive achievement for a first-year crafter and a clear indicator of his raw potential.
Rather than resting on that early success, he has spent the following months becoming a consistent presence at the city's biggest events. Attendees of both Anime India 2026 and Kolkata Comic Con 2026 have likely seen him walking the floor, networking with the community, and studying the craft. For Rudrapriyo, every convention is an opportunity to learn, observe, and level up his skills for what comes next.
While his first year was about establishing his presence, his current focus is on a highly anticipated, complex build. Bridging the gap between the anime community and the competitive gaming scene, Rudrapriyo is currently deep into crafting Omen from Valorant.
Tackling a character like Omen is no small feat. It requires a mastery of fabric draping for the tattered cloak, structural foam work for the intricate armor pieces, and the daunting task of creating the radiant, faceless visage that the Radiant agent is famous for. Choosing such a demanding project this early in his cosplay career showcases a fearless approach to craftsmanship.
Stay tuned to his portfolio to catch the first glimpse of his completed Omen build and see where this rising Kolkata talent goes next.

Thanks for going through his profile, we're on the mission to build Indian anime cosplayer's portfolio database where you can help and support your favourite cosplayers directly.
Why? Because simple we have observed many Indian cosplayers who are doing cosplays via self funding some even lack it, but their dedication is easily shown by their profiles, we want this dedication of theirs to not go unnoticed. Simple as that.
