Diablo is coming back, and the Demon Lord act is about to get another run. How Not to Summon a Demon Lord ULT, the third season of the isekai anime, dropped a teaser visual and its main staff on October 9, 2026. Still no premiere date. Annoying, sure. But the staff list says plenty. Satoshi Kuwabara returns as director at Tezuka Productions, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is back on series composition, and Masaaki Mizunaka, Azumi Waki and Yu Serizawa all reprise Diablo, Rem and Shera. Season 3 was first announced in April, so this is the first real proof the thing is moving.

Here's why that matters. Season 2, Omega, aired in 2021. Five years of waiting. The anime kicked off in 2018, the light novels started in 2014 and sat at 14 volumes as of 2021, and the manga has stacked up 28 volumes. Across novels and manga the series has passed 4 million copies sold. Not a niche thing. Fans kept asking for more after Omega ended, and the April announcement finally gave them an answer. And the hook still works: a hikikomori gamer lands inside his own MMORPG avatar, panics, and fakes being a terrifying Demon Lord because he can't talk to people. Social anxiety as a superpower, basically. Still one of the funniest premises in isekai, and I'll die on that hill.

So what's the fandom saying? Mostly relief, with a side of nerves. The loudest worry is the studio shuffle. Okuruto Noboru, which worked on the previous season, is not involved this time, so Tezuka Productions is carrying the show alone. Character design now splits between Shizue Kaneko and Zenjiro Ukulele, last season's chief animation director. Some fans call that smart continuity. Others call it a coin flip. Yuusuke Katou handles music and Satoshi Motoyama is sound director, so the audio side looks settled. Then comes the usual theory mill: new Demon Lord threats, whatever the next light novel arc throws at Rem and Shera, maybe a bigger bad. None of it is confirmed. Take it as fun noise, not leaks.

Realistic expectations? Skip the 2026 premiere dream. A teaser visual and staff usually lead to a trailer and a date next, so a 2027 window feels sane, though that is my read and not an announcement. Crunchyroll carried the first two seasons, so a stream there is a safe bet, but nothing is confirmed. Don't expect a flagship glow-up either. Tezuka is a steady pair of hands, not a miracle worker. What you can count on is the same cast, the same chaotic comedy, and Diablo's cringe poses at full volume. Keep the hype at a simmer. A cast reveal or PV is the next real signal, and until then, we wait.
